Many people confuse Cinco de Mayo with Mexican Independence Day, however, Cinco de Mayo celebrates the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. In Mexico, this day is mostly celebrated in the state of Puebla with traditional military parades, reenactments of the battle, and other festive events. In Arizona, Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexican culture through delicious food, tasty drinks, and fiestas! Take a look at what some of our local businesses are doing to celebrate:
