We hear all the time that “there is nothing for teens to do around here” so we asked a few what they like to do. Our intern Isabel likes photography, graphic design, and visiting local coffee shops. She was gracious enough to tell us about some of the places she likes to hang out and what Fall/Pumpkin offerings they have.
Cabin Coffee Cafe
Cabin Coffee is the perfect place to get in the holiday spirit while being surrounded by a cozy inviting atmosphere! There are board games, a fireplace, and plenty of comfortable seating. They are now serving various fall flavors. We tried the Boo Buster and it was delicious!
Elevate Coffee at Norterra is an open and welcoming environment with a lot of seating, live music, and a friendly staff. Whether you’re meeting up with friends, getting work done, or studying, Elevate Coffee is the perfect place to do so. In addition, for every latte you purchase, they donate 10 cents to Water 4 Kids International. Here we tried the Pumpkin Pie White Chocolate Mocha and we would definitely recommend it!
Union Coffee Co.
Union Coffee Co. at 67thAve. & Thunderbird Rd. offers a modern, clean and fresh feel with lots of natural light and a minimalistic vibe. If you’re looking for a place to sit down and study or work with minimal distractions, Union Coffee Co. is the ideal choice! If you like tea, they have a great Gingerbread Chai Latte.
Nekter Juice Bar
If you’re looking for something seasonal and healthy but still want a place to hang out then look no further than Nekter. They have an inviting atmosphere that encourages you to hang out, just like at a coffee shop, but without the coffee! They also have a community bulletin board and a grab and go section. They’re offering a Fall Flavors Menu with three pumpkin options through the first weekend of November. Join Nekter Lake Pleasant on Thursday, November 1st from 4-7PM for a chance to win PRIZES from local businesses and have your proceeds support Upper West Side PHX.
Java Grounds is unique in that it is a coffee shop but also a non-profit that benefits Heart For The City, a mentoring ministry to inner-city kids. It has plenty of seating and is able to accommodate small group meetings. For Fall we recommend the delicious pumpkin spice latte!
All of the above places will have tasty holiday menus coming out soon too! Be on the lookout for eggnog and peppermint!
