October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and since 80% of our followers are women and we’re passionate about womens’ health, we wanted to do something to promote awareness and help women currently battling breast cancer. Enter our Community Partner, Leah from Black Cadillac Salon!
Leah is a mom with a 9 year old son, Cash, and the owner of Black Cadillac Salon on 83rdAvenue at Lake Pleasant Pkwy. She has been a hairstylist for over 15 years and a business owner for just over 2 years. Throughout her career she has met many women battling cancer either as clients or friends/family members of clients. Working with women every day she feels very connected to this cause and has made it a goal for herself and her salon to help. For Breast Cancer Awareness month she has decided to make the logo PINK on the tank tops sold at Black Cadillac Salon in honor of those fighting breast cancer. Leah says “I think it’s important to honor the survivors, their families, and everyone who supported them during their fight to survive.” So this October (and through the holidays) they will be selling their Black Cadillac Salon tank tops with the pink logo and using the proceeds to make a donation to the Pink Warrior Angels Charity. If you’re not familiar with Pink Warrior Angels, please check out their website https://www.pinkwarriorangels.org to see how they’re helping women going through treatment for breast cancer. Thank you for your support and encouragement during this promotion. It is greatly appreciated by everyone at Black Cadillac Salon!
If you want to buy a tank top (which is super cute by the way) AND get tips and tricks from the pros on styling your hair, join them for their Styling Class on 10/19 from 6-9PM. For more information, check out the Upper West Side calendar page www.uwsphx.com/calendar or Black Cadillac Salon & Barber’s Facebook page. Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.
